The Gript That Keeps On Misgiving
It's time we reassess our support of Gript and their compromising press council membership.
On Saturday just gone, as you are all probably aware, mainstream journalist Paul Connolly attended a protest in Coolock outside Crown Paints. Connolly attended not just as a journalist but as an antagonist. Connolly attended masked up and with intent to create a story rather than to simply cover a story. Connolly conspired with the head Imam of Ireland, the leader of Antifa in Ireland and British and Irish media in the setup of such attack and even chose the time and location specifically because there would be “mostly women and children” due to the belief that all the men would be in town at a planned protest. We know all of this because the fool, the fool, the fool he left his phone unlocked at the moment he approached the protestors. As Connolly and his Antifa/British Media buddies tried to saunter up to the camp they were unaware that the camp was occupied by members of the Coolock Intelligence Agency. The CIA operatives acted swiftly, sending the communists to the flat of their backs in under a few sparse seconds. Before their bodies had come to rest on the pavement the CIA operatives had opportunistically removed their phones, revealing the plans within to the entire nation. To catch yourself up to speed on the incident I want you to read two articles. The first, an outstanding piece of journalism by The Burkean and the second, an equally great read by Stephen Sutton.
In Stephen’s article he covers the now glaringly obvious gatekeeping being carried out by Gript media. Stephen Correctly identifies the correlation between press council membership and Gript’s new line of inquiry when it comes to prime stories such as the Paul Connolly revelation, which is that they will show mercy to the press council and its assets in the field. I want to really have a go here at McGuirk and co as I will tolerate no more of their crap considering the stances they proclaim to have and also the audience that they have cultivated. First though, I want to explain something about the activities of Paul Connolly.
Paul Connolly’s activities, now confirmed to be in cooperation with the state and its minions, draws some horrific parallels to the character Louis Bloom in the film Nightcrawler. In the film, Bloom is a freelance journalist and functioning psychopath who sells footage to local news stations and slowly descends into opportunistic criminality in order to generate better and better stories for higher reward and status. From causing car crashes and recording the aftermath all the way to repositioning bodies at crime scenes in order to get better shots, the Nightcrawler shows how a psychopath can be created and enabled by a reward system that encourages the lowering of standards and disregarding of the rights of others. This film shows this archetype in the context of a simple, singular driving force. Personal financial gain is Bloom’s only driver. In real life Ireland, our very own Nightcrawler, Paul Connolly, has another motive driving his psychopathy. He is part of what he sees as a communist coup d'état against the Irish Nationalist community. He is working with fellow treasonous operatives in the Mosques, Antifa, the NGO’s and also the Mockingbird media that pay his salary and hold the keys to his career entirely. The contacts on Paul’s phone that communicated with him on the day in question are absolutely mind blowing. The blatant intent to subvert the the truth in pursuit of a desired narrative is laid to bare as the videos show Connolly working with Antifa and planning the assault on the camp. This should be a national scandal, and it is, but the mainstream have circled the wagons, including Gript.
The Nightcrawler incident shows the clearest indication yet that Gript will circle the wagons on command, In particular in defence of their colleagues in the Press Council of Ireland. Not reporting on a blatantly obvious national media scandal involving a prominent figure is akin to priests vouching for each other when their is a sex scandal in the village. You are imagining things say Gript. This is a non story and we are all “hysterical” according to John McGuirk. Ben Scallon has spent the entire weekend and all of today (Monday) on X/Twitter stating that he doesn’t have time to cover it, all the while scrolling on Twitter. It takes twenty minutes to put together an article and he had all weekend to read the material and skim through the footage. Instead he engaged in an exercise of running cover for McGuirk who made the decision that gript would not be covering the story. “We are looking into it” Scallon said on Twitter as Gript posted a litany of nothing-burger stories all day Monday. As Stephen Sutton pointed out, international alt media such as The Lotus Eaters in the UK covered the story and did a fantastic job.
To be clear, The Lotus Eaters dwarf Gript in viewership and having them highlight our emerging stories while Gript remain complicity silent is embarrassing and concerning in equal measure, but Gript have also shown contempt for us on many occasions, in particular with their article regarding Fergus Power recently. In the article titled SHOUTING AT CAFE EMPLOYEES IS NOT PATRIOTISM John McGuirk tries to throw Ferg to the lions but completely failed to get any support from anyone other than Shinners and Fine Gaelers online. The title itself is a lie. Ferg didn’t shout at anyone in the cafe. To quote McGuirk himself, this title is ‘hysterical’. The video linked in the article itself as a point of reference shows this. It is embarrassing that McGuirk used this dishonest title the way that he did. To be honest, the dishonesty doesn’t end there. At the beginning of the article McGuirk makes reference to Matt Treacy and his sterling work gathering information on the owners of migrant centres. This tweaked my suspicions and sure enough as I read through the article I saw it. Matt Treacy’s signature classism revealed itself.
To state things plainly: Normal, ordinary, reasonable people, who make up the majority of both the population and the voting electorate, rightly see this sort of conduct as bizarre, unhinged, unwelcome, and a sign of deep unpleasantness. Those are not emotions one would normally wish to have associated with your cause.
These words are suspiciously Treacy-like and I have absolutely no problem in saying that I believe Matt Treacy was the main originator to this article and had it baptised under McGuirk’s name to avoid any further distain from an activist movement that he has nothing but contempt for. I am going to show you a tweet that Matt wrote back last year after the Gallows protest outside the Dail. In defense of Michael Healy Ray after he was shoved by an angry citizen, Treacy said the following about all of us who attended:
McTreacy goes on in that gutter peice to compare Ferg to a drunk person falling around O’Connell street which is the brand of absolute scutter journalism that you would expect to see from the Journal.ie or the Irish Times. Gript seem to think they have a mandate to get cavalier with the reputations of street activists who effectively drive the narrative in this country and create the independent grassroots content that Gript vampirise and profit off the back off. The very stories that Gript write about are driven by people like Ferg and his relentless campaigning. McTreacy writes a few key points at the end of trashy hit piece that seems to be an attempt to address people calling them hypocrites and snobs but it is nothing more than an Italian mobster saying “no offence” after insulting you into the ground. I say this not because I like Ferg or because I agree with his views, I say this because I am sick to the fucking teeth of Gript’s notions about themselves and the blatant hostility they are now displaying towards the working class Nationalist community: Gript are lost to us. Gone. The failure to nail Paul Connolly and his co-conspirators to the mast is only the latest in a long string of bizarre attempts by Gript to regularise themselves at the expense of the movement.
To bring all of the above full circle, and to show you how duplicitous Gript are you need to look no further than Matt Treacy’s X/Twitter. Matt Treacy has recently wrote favorably about the actions of the Coolock Intelligence Agency who flattened Antifa and secured the intel from the dropped device. How insincere is this after reading the tweet above and the hit piece on Ferg? How insincere is it that McGuirk, Scallon and Treacy all have tweets about this incident up on Twitter but refuse to cover it? “Semi illiterates” in Coolock are cool when they provide free-to-air content of them battering commies but when they pull off the unthinkable, exposing a network of cooperation against national interests at the highest levels of Irish society including Irish and British media, islamic leadership, Antifa and NGO’s Gript look the other way? Call us hysterical? Tell us they are busy or that they “don’t work weekends”? Gript are pissing on the Irish and telling us it’s raining.
Gript are sellouts who use the achievements and courage of street activists as a disposable resource to profit from financially and to gain access to the inner circles of Irish high society. When required to do so, Gript will demonstrate loyalty to the establishment and will never risk being penalised by the Press Council for preserving the good name of an activist or campaigner. Gript talk relentlessly about Mainstream parties and offer Aontú and Independent Ireland as a viable alternative, but never about the alternative parties who hold the same views as Gript. This perpetuates the othering effect that the mainstream media desires. You cannot build a movement upon the lusty flirtations of a media outfit who will deny they know us in public. You cannot build a movement upon a media outlet of poets who refuse to fraternise with our warriors. Now more than ever we need to be our own media and take away the only point of leverage these pricks have on us, our generous and foolish infatuation with them.
As I said previously to Ben Scallon. Gript are a "limited hangout" and people need to understand this fact. They have corralled our people and placated us with stories we want covered yet carefully curated the content to pay lip service to the bigger issues around UN Agenda 21 / 2030, including The Covid Scam/Vaccine damage, The Climate Scam including the war on farmers, The Financial Scam[ MMT, inflation, war on cash and CBDCs , Transhumanism, Surveillance society/5G rollout/Internet of Things etc. .That does not mean that they can't serve a useful purpose for the movement but it shows how starved the resistance is of decent platforms to get the truth out. You mention the Lotus Eaters in the UK. This is exactly what we need here. A professional looking studio setup with two or three articulate and authentic people who will represent us properly. This format is so effective if done properly. Look at Joe Rogan, Tucker Carlson or Pints with Aquinas to mention a few.
I'm surprised to see that conduct from Treacy. On a walk last night I was thinking about McGuirk. Recall that he was the target of a garda purposefully giving him false information on the jihadist child-stabber. Gript is being targeted from high places. I am not excusing Mc-Treacy-lan, but this is an organisation which has chosen a difficult path. McGuirk cannot let gript look like an 'activist publication'.
I want my one contribution to the 'meta-discourse' to be this: we need to think of ourselves as an ecosystem. In an ecosystem, different parts rely on each other. Even if they at first seem antagonistic, the competition is a good thing in the long run. Equally, gript (for all its imperfection) can and should be seen as a means of getting people to consume your kind of info. You don't go from Irish Times reader to substacker overnight, no less than you start a car in 5th gear.
The deeper your understanding of ecology is, the more you take a look at 2nd/3rd/4th order effects.
Sorry for long comment. Finally, I think that Gerry O'Neill deserves a shout-out ('don't try to be a journo and an activist at the same time'). This deliciously blew up in Connolly's face.
