An Oireachtas Petition To Leave The European Union

I am going to roll out a an initiative that I have been discussing with many people for some time. Like many of you I have a burning desire to leave the EU. I do not believe nations should be collected like marbles by the elites at the loss of their sovereignty. I also see the EU itself as an imperialist block. The EU was promised to us as only an economic zone. Free trade and “movement of people”. This quickly evolved over time into a parliamentary system and untouchable Commission. EU supremacy was forced on us by way of the fraudulent Lisbon and Nice Treaties which the general public voted no to on both occasions only to be forced to go back to polls again. This alone is reason enough to assert that the second votes of either referendum are illegitimate and breach the will of the sovereign people of Éire. Our culture and quintessential sense of self is directly at odds with the policies of EU federal system as our historical desire is one of national liberation. True independence and self determination has always been the end goal of the various Republican and nationalist movements for hundreds of years. The entire EU block is currently in open political rebellion so we it is now that we must pressure our political class to leave.

I have successfully engaged the Oireachtas Committee in the past on the Hate Speech Bill, forcing an eye opening interaction and debate around the nature of how the bill passed through the Houses of the Oireachtas and also exposed the personal opinions of prominent Senators and TD’s that were otherwise unaired. The petition that I submitted had 10,000+ signatures and caused quite a stir at the time. I now want to ask everyone that has seen me go through these motions support me again as I attempt to bring a discussion around Leaving the EU in front of the Oireachtas.

This is purely an exercise in civics, which many do not believe in. I accept that but that’s why I am doing it. I believe these avenues can open discussions and change the narrative in our favour. Without a single TD in Dáil Éireann willing to call for an exit from the EU, we have to do it from the outside using these methods. I am asking you to support me as I build this new petition to leave the EU. I ask that you share the petition below with friends and family. Share it on your socials and get it in front of as many people as possible. I am aiming for 10000 again this time around but it could be bigger due to the fact that the popularity of the EU is at an all time low.
